SailGP returns to Auckland – access information for Auckland Central and Silo marinas | 13–15 February 2026

SailGP Auckland will take place across Wynyard Quarter and within the Waitematā Harbour from 13–15 February 2026.

To ensure safety and smooth operations there will be temporary on-water and on-land access impacts at Auckland Central and Silo marinas:

  • On-water: The Harbourmaster has established exclusion zones within the Waitematā Harbour, affecting marine traffic entering and exiting Auckland Central and Silo marinas at certain times
  • On-land: A traffic management plan, approved by Auckland Transport, will be implemented, with additional security staff on site throughout the event

This major event will result in a number of temporary road closures, access restrictions and operational changes in the surrounding area in the weeks leading up to, during and following the event.

The SailGP team has provided us with this letter to share with you. It outlines key dates, road closures, and parking impacts that will be relevant to marina customers, particularly those accessing the marinas by vehicle. We recommend reviewing the attachment carefully and planning ahead if you expect to access the marinas or surrounding precinct during this period.
